Echoes of Alterac

The Echoes of Alterac is a Warcraft-themed event in Heroes of the Storm, that began on June 12, 2018. The event adds a battlegrounds, the Alterac Pass; a new heroes, Yrel; eight skins; 53 portraits; 30 sprays; and two mounts. Yrel is available immediately at the start of the event. The event concluded on July 9, 2018.

The event was available for testing on the Public Test Realm starting on June 4, 2018.

Special Features

Alliance vs. Horde

Pick a side in the battle for Alterac Pass and earn special rewards depending on your selection. Choose carefully—once you pick a side, the other questline will become inaccessible. Don’t worry: all Quest rewards will become available in basic Loot Chests next summer.

Backstory: After traveling to an Alternate Draenor, the forces of Azeroth saved the acolyte Yrel from the Iron Horde. With their aid, she rose to the rank of Exarch and fought back the demonic invasion of her world. Now, she finds herself where time, space, and dimensions converge: the Nexus.

Grand Marshal Varian
Backstory: Rallied by the Lady of Thorns call, Grand Mashal Varian Wrynn left Stormwind with his father's blessing and the Stromwind army in tow. The Alliance would not let Alterac fall before to the Raven Lord's machinations.

Spirit Healer Auriel
Backstory: Spirit Healers are impartial arbiters of life and death and it takes a considerable injustice for one to choose a side and go to war. Auriel's presence has granted a new hope to the Alliance.

Drek'Thar Rehgar
Backstory: The great Raven spirit had been right... The Alliance marched into Alterac with new allies and ready for war. While the spirit's strange power could aid him, to fight an army he would need allies.

Mad Jester Yrel
Backstory: Not all villains have super powers. Some, like the Jester gang, spread chaos and mayhem using whatever weaponry they can steal. While you don't have to be mad to join their ranks, but if you do... you probably are.

Sapper Junkrat
Backstory: The mischievous Goblin Sappers are known throughout the Horde for their incredible aptitude for destruction. Despite their short life expectancy, some sappers like Jammi Foxxleson even became goblin engineers.

Stormpike Ram
Backstory: Raised by the master trainers of the Stormpike Clan, these rams were once ridden only by exalted warriors that possessed great honor.
