|Title||Archlich of Naxxramas|
Kel'Thuzad has faithfully served the Lich King both in life and after death. Reanimated as the Archlich of the Scourge and given domain of the Dread Necropolis, Naxxramas, Kel’Thuzad remains Arthas’s most trusted advisor and master of the cold dark. Drawn to the immeasurable power found within the Nexus, Kel'Thuzad, Archlich of Naxxramas, has turned several of the noblest Heroes against their allies, and he will not stop until all become minions of the cold dark!
Background[edit | edit source]This section concerns content exclusive to the Warcraft universe.
Kel'Thuzad was a powerful member of the Kirin Tor, but his interest in the dark arts caused him to be expelled from Dalaran. He went on to become the founder of the Cult of the Damned and one of the principal agents of the Lich King. After bringing the plague to Lordaeron, he was slain by Arthas Menethil. When Arthas became a death knight, he used and defiled the powers of the Sunwell to resurrect Kel'Thuzad as a lich so he could summon Archimonde to Azeroth. Following Arthas's departure for Northrend, Kel'Thuzad was left to command the Scourge forces in Lordaeron from his floating necropolis, Naxxramas. After launching a massive attack against the cities of the Alliance and Horde, adventurers from both invaded Naxxramas and put an end to the Archlich. However, his phylactery was nowhere to be found and with it being spared, Kel'thuzad was free to return.
Several years later he did just that, rising within Naxxramas once again and moving it to Northrend at the Lich King's command to repel the Alliance, Horde and Argent Crusade's three pronged attack on the continent and its Scourge residents. While Kel'thuzad was struck down once again, and several months later the Lich King was as well and re-imprisoned within the Frozen Throne by Bolvar, the Archlich's phylactery was once again nowhere to be found. As a result, Kel'thuzad's current whereabouts are unknown.
