Jade Martin is responsible for designing heroes for the company’s online team brawler. His work includes paper design, initial implementation, playtesting and iteration, and working with artists to ensure that the fantasy and mechanics come through in the animations and effects. He also works with the sound team to nail down impactful ability sounds and with the writing and cinematics teams to ground these characters in the Nexus through dialogue and storytelling.
Prior to joining Blizzard Entertainment in 2015 in his current role, Martin worked at Carbine Studios for six years as a system designer who worked primarily on creatures and classes.
Martin loves playing videogames, but he also spends some of his spare time lifting weights or playing a variety of sports, with football being one of his favorites. He also regularly attends Scottish festivals, and always does so in his kilt.
