Through the Legacy of the Void campaign, one of Alarak's great complaints about Artanis is how naïve he is, especially when it comes to trying to save his people as opposed to destroy those corrupted by Amon.
	Alarak: Aww, here you are, Artanis. Lost in the uncaring depths of space. Artanis: No different from you, Alarak.
Fenix	Artanis: Fenix! Fenix: Ah, Executor! En taro Adun! It is good to see you once more upon the field of battle.		Artanis's exalamation is directly taken from finding the Purifier Talandar in Legacy of the Void, an AI consciousness with Fenix's personality. Fenix's quote comes from his first interaction with Artanis (the player character) during the StarCraft mission "First Strike."
	Fenix: Adun be with you, Executor. Let us bring swift death to the enemies of Aiur. Artanis: We shall show them the might of the Templar!		Fenix's quote to Artanis is from before the StarCraft mission "Higher Ground," where he tells Artanis the same thing.
Murky	Artanis: What zerg abomination is this?! Murky: <Response indicating he is excited and ready to fight>		Artanis has never seen a murloc, so seeing our least favorite tiny monstrosity that spawns eggs and never dies would likely make him think zerg.
	Murky: <Playfully questioning the person next to him> Artanis: Really! I will not dignify that with a response.		As protoss communicate psionically, Artanis can understand Murky's language.
Raynor	Artanis: It is good to fight by your side once more, Friend Raynor. Raynor: You know it, man.		Artanis and Raynor fought alongside each other through the Great War and End War, and were close friends, coming to each other's aid in times of need.
	Raynor: How's my favorite Hierarch doing? Artanis: Lost in the Nexus and on the verge of battle, but otherwise well.
Tassadar	Artanis: My mentor... Guide us in the fight ahead. Tassadar: Faith before fear, friend.		Tassadar was the mentor to Artanis, and helped train him in the ways of the templar. After Tassadar's death, Artanis applied his teachings, and would often reflect on what he had told him to make leadership decisions.
	Tassadar: Executor, we march to victory. Artanis: For the glory of Aiur!		Tassadar refers to Artanis as "Executor," a command rank of the Templar. During StarCraft, Artanis is the player character, who Tassadar only refers to as "Executor."
Zeratul	Artanis: It brings me great joy to see you, old friend. Zeratul: As ever, my blade is yours Hierarch.		Artanis and Zeratul fought together in the Great War, and Zeratul trusts Artanis's leadership.
	Zeratul: En Taro Tassadar, Hierarch Artanis. Artanis: Anon por-ghal! Translation: Time for battle! Language: Khalani		Both Zeratul and Artanis were close friends of Tassadar, and honor his memory and sacrifice.
Zerg hero	Artanis: I must ally with the zerg? So be it. Zerg hero: <hero dependent>		The zerg are the great enemy of the protoss, having overrun Aiur, nearly wiped the protoss out on Shakuras and shattered the civilization. Even though by the end of Legacy of the Void they have a tenuous peace, Artanis still refuses to fully trust the zerg for the devastation they caused.

vs. Alarak	This is a rare satisfaction.		Artanis allied with Alarak in Legacy of the Void, and sort of came to respect him, but also spent the majority of the campaign being mocked and taunted by Alarak.
vs. Kerrigan	That was for Fenix!		Fenix was a protoss hero and a close friend of Artanis. During StarCraft, Kerrigan allied with Raynor, Fenix and Mengsk to defeat the United Earth Directorate invading the sector, but after breaking their fortress on Korhal Kerrigan betrayed them, killing Fenix.
vs. Protoss hero	You should have joined in my unity.		Artanis is the leader of the unified protoss, or Daelaam, which encompasses most of the protoss race.
vs. Raynor	My apologies for that, Friend Raynor.		Jim Raynor and Artanis are close friends, having fought alongside each other through multiple wars, both fighting to help eachother's races. "Friend Raynor" is what most protoss refer to him as in StarCraft II.
vs. Tassadar	It seems I have surpassed you, mentor.		Tassadar was Artanis's mentor, and Artanis carried on his teacher's goal of wiping the zerg off Aiur and creating a unified protoss free of racial divides.
vs. Zeratul	May Adun hide you next time.		"May Adun hide you” is the English translation for "Adun Toridas", which dark templar like Zeratul say as a greeting. Adun was the most famous protoss executor, who helped the Nerazim learn how to cloak themselves where the Conclave ordered their genocide. Adun gave his life to help them escape Aiur, but the Conclave twisted it to say he gave his life to drive them out.
vs. Zerg hero	I will purge your kind from this galaxy.		The zerg are the great enemy of the protoss, having taken Aiur, killed millions of protoss, and opposed them at every turn. While they occasionally are forced to ally and eventually did make peace, Artanis can never truly forget what the zerg did to his people.

This realm poses many questions, and few answers...
Were the xel'naga involved in the creation of the Nexus? If so, they have left no temples... no new lifeforms...		The xel'naga were the progenitor race the created all life in the StarCraft universe.
Unless those lifeforms were unseen... controlling us through some sort of complicated digital mechanism. Some sort of battle net as it were...		A reference to us as players controlling the characters in Heroes through Battle.net.
Maybe even thousands of these lifeforms, all manipulating our lives at once?! Agh... Alright, this is giving me a headache.		A reference to us as players controlling the characters in Heroes through Battle.net.
I wonder what the Daelaam are doing in my absence. Hopefully they haven't rearranged the furnishings in my council chamber. I hate it when they do that.		As Hierarch, Artanis commands the Daelaam, or unified protoss and oversees the Twilight Council that represents all races. He has his own room in the main council structure named the Citadel.
So, the Spear of Adun is right above me... yet Phase-Smith Karax is nowhere to be found? <sigh> Typical. At least he's not bothering me for solarite.		Tge Spear of Adun is a protoss arkship from the Golden Age of Expansion that is commanded by Artanis in Legacy of the Void, and provides his ultimate abilities in Heroes of the Storm. Karax is a Khalai caste worker who helped manage the Spear of Adun and its many systems, as well as the robotic protoss arsenal. During the Legacy of the Void campaign, Karax would frequently point out bonus objectives which yield solarite, a material used to upgrade the Spear of Adun's systems.
Will you stop poking me? Go dispense your aggression on one of the orcs! See how they like it!		In StarCraft, one of Artanis's poke quotes was "Stop poking me! Who do I look like, an orc?" Which in itself is a reference to the first poke quote in Blizzard games, which was the Warcraft 1 orc which would go "Stop poking me!"
By the way, I said StarCraft wasn't just Warcraft in space... Whatever this Heroes of the Storm thing is doesn't count.		Another reference to his StarCraft poke quotes, "This is not Warcraft in space! It's much more sophisticated! I know it's not 3D!" That was a poke at the common complaints levied at StarCraft early in its development, that it was "Warcraft in space".
Yes, my starship follows me wherever I go. It is like what you terrans refer to as a pet, only useful.		All through Legacy of the Void, Artanis brings his arkship the Spear of Adun with him up until his expedition into the Void. This is a poke at the fact Artanis has his ship above him in every battleground, even inside of the Tomb of the Spider Queen.
I was only made Hierarch a short time ago, but I'm still thinking about my career advancement. With a little luck, I'll be Highestarch in no time.		A pun on "highest" being higher than "higher". Hierarch is the supreme leader of the Daelaam, so he actually doesn't have much career advancement.
What do you think of the new armor? My last one left me feeling a little... exposed.		Artanis's StarCraft look was a little light, wearing only a loincloth and one pauldron and being otherwise naked.
I am only young for a protoss. I have lived two centuries more than most of you, and I would appreciate your respect.		By the time of StarCraft, Artanis was 262 years old, young for a protoss which usually live to around 800-900ish years.
I've lived a life that's full. I've traveled each and every star array... And more, much more than this, I did it my way.		A reference to Frank Sinatra's hit version of "My Way", one of his most popular songs. Artanis's name is Sinatra spelled backwards.
